Terms & Conditions
Airport Shuttle & Sightseeing Transportation • Nassau, The Bahamas
Welcome to Dan Knowles Tours. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your booking and use of our airport shuttle transfers, private luxury transfers, sightseeing services, grocery shuttle, and related transportation services in Nassau and on Paradise Island, The Bahamas. Please read them carefully before booking. We aim to keep travel around The Bahamas simple, safe, and transparent, and these Terms are designed to protect both you and us.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By booking, reserving, or using any service provided by Dan Knowles Tours ("we," "us," or "our"), you ("the Customer," "you," or "the Passenger") acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you are booking on behalf of other passengers, you confirm that you have the authority to accept these Terms on their behalf, and you are responsible for ensuring that all members of your party are aware of and comply with them.
If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not book or use our services. We reserve the right to update or amend these Terms at any time; the version in effect at the time of your booking will apply to that booking.
2. Booking & Payment
All services are subject to availability at the time of booking. A reservation is considered confirmed only when both of the following have occurred:
- Full payment has been received in United States Dollars (USD); and
- You have received a written booking confirmation from us by email.
Until you receive email confirmation, no reservation is guaranteed, and requested vehicles, dates, or times may not be reserved in your name. We recommend booking in advance, especially during peak travel periods, to secure your preferred service and vehicle.
Photo Identification. A valid, government-issued photo ID may be required at check-in and must match the name and payment method used for the booking. This helps us protect you against fraud and confirm your reservation.
3. Pricing & Fees
We are proud to offer fixed, transparent pricing with no hidden fees or surcharges. The price quoted at the time of booking is the price you pay for the service booked. All prices are quoted and payable in United States Dollars (USD).
- Shared shuttle discounts: Discounted rates may be available for roundtrip bookings on our shared airport shuttle service.
- Meet-and-greet and luggage assistance: These are included in our transfer services at no additional charge.
- Add-ons and special requests: Optional extras (such as the wet bar add-on for the Sprinter van) are priced separately and must be arranged in advance.
- Third-party charges: We are not responsible for, and do not control, any fees charged by your bank, card issuer, or payment processor, including currency-conversion or transaction fees. Such charges are your responsibility.
4. Cancellation & Refund Policy
Because we reserve vehicles and staff specifically for your booking, our cancellation notice requirements vary by party size. To be eligible for a refund, cancellations must be made in writing (by email) within the applicable notice period below:
4.1 Individual & Small Bookings (1–9 passengers)
- Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the scheduled service time are eligible for a full refund.
- Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled service time may not be eligible for a refund.

- Cancellations made with less than 7 days’ notice may not be eligible for a refund.
4.3 Groups of 30 or more passengers
- Cancellations require at least 30 days’ written notice before the scheduled service date to be eligible for a refund.
- Cancellations made with less than 30 days’ notice may not be eligible for a refund.
Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method. Processing times may vary depending on your bank or card issuer. Any bank or card-processing fees are non-refundable.
5. No-Show Policy
A "no-show" occurs when a passenger fails to appear at the agreed pickup location within a reasonable grace period of the scheduled pickup time, without providing advance notice of cancellation or delay. No-shows forfeit the full fare, and no refund will be provided.
If your travel plans change, please contact us as soon as possible. For airport pickups, please let us know promptly of any flight delays so we can do our best to accommodate you, subject to vehicle and driver availability.
6. Schedule & Punctuality
Punctuality allows us to serve every guest well. Please be ready at your designated pickup location at the scheduled time. For shared shuttle and scheduled services, drivers operate on fixed timetables and may not be able to wait beyond a reasonable grace period without affecting other passengers.
While we make every effort to operate on time, arrival and travel times are estimates and are not guaranteed. Traffic, weather, road conditions, airport congestion, flight schedules, and other factors beyond our control may affect timing. We are not liable for missed flights, connections, appointments, or other consequences arising from delays outside our reasonable control. We strongly recommend allowing ample time for airport transfers.
7. Passenger Conduct & Responsibilities
To keep every trip safe and enjoyable, passengers agree to:
- Behave respectfully toward our drivers, staff, and fellow passengers at all times.
- Wear seat belts where provided and follow all safety instructions given by the driver.
- Supervise children at all times; car seats or booster seats should be requested in advance where required.
- Refrain from illegal, disorderly, or unsafe behavior, including the use of illegal substances.
- Not damage or deface any vehicle; you may be responsible for the cost of repairs or cleaning resulting from misuse.
We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue service, without refund, to any person who is intoxicated, abusive, endangers safety, or otherwise behaves in a manner we reasonably deem inappropriate. Waivers or acknowledgment forms may be required before certain services; where requested, these must be completed before the service begins.
8. Luggage Policy
Luggage assistance is included with our transfer services, and our team is glad to help. To ensure everyone travels comfortably and safely:
- Luggage allowances depend on the vehicle type and available capacity. Please advise us of any oversized or excess luggage (including golf clubs, strollers, or sporting equipment) at the time of booking so we can assign a suitable vehicle.
- Excess or oversized luggage that has not been declared may not be accommodated and could require an additional vehicle at extra cost.
- Passengers are responsible for their own belongings. We are not liable for lost, stolen, damaged, or forgotten items left in a vehicle or at a pickup or drop-off location.
9. Liability Disclaimer9. Liability Disclaimer
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dan Knowles Tours, its owners, employees, drivers, and agents shall not be liable for:
- Any personal injury, illness, death, loss, or damage suffered by any passenger, except where caused by our proven gross negligence and only to the extent required by applicable law;
- Loss of, theft of, or damage to personal property, luggage, or valuables;
- Delays, missed flights, missed connections, or missed appointments;
- Any bank fees, credit card fees, currency-conversion charges, or costs imposed by third parties;
- Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages of any kind.
Where any liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim. Passengers participate in and use our services voluntarily and at their own risk.
10. Weather & Force Majeure
The safety of our passengers and staff always comes first. We may cancel, delay, reschedule, or modify a service due to unsafe weather or conditions beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to storms, hurricanes, flooding, road closures, government or port restrictions, strikes, mechanical failure, accidents, or other events of force majeure.
- If we cancel for safety reasons: You may choose to reschedule your service (subject to availability) or receive a refund for the affected service.
- If the service operates as scheduled: No weather-related refund will be provided simply because weather was less favorable than hoped.
We are not liable for any additional costs, losses, or expenses you may incur as a result of cancellations or delays caused by weather or other force majeure events.
11. Vehicle Capacity & Service Changes
We operate a range of vehicles — including compact cars, sedans, SUVs, mini vans, vans, Sprinter vans, and buses — with private luxury transfers accommodating up to 20 passengers. Vehicle assignment is based on party size, luggage, and availability.
- Passenger and luggage counts must not exceed the safe, legal capacity of the assigned vehicle. We reserve the right to refuse to carry passengers or luggage in excess of a vehicle’s capacity.
- Specific vehicle makes or models cannot be guaranteed. We may substitute a vehicle of equal or greater capacity to fulfill your booking.
- We may adjust routes, pickup points, or timing where necessary for safety, operational, or regulatory reasons.
12. Grocery Shuttle Terms
Our Grocery Shopping Shuttle offers scheduled transportation between the Atlantis area and Solomon’s Fresh Market, with additional Airport Roundtrip options that include a one-hour Foodstore & Liquor Store stop (Palm Cay). The following terms apply specifically to these services:
- The Grocery Shopping Shuttle operates on scheduled days (Saturday, Sunday, and Monday) with fixed pickup and return times. Please confirm current schedules at the time of booking.
- Passengers must return to the designated pickup point at the scheduled return time. The shuttle cannot wait for late passengers, and missed return departures are treated as no-shows without refund.
- For roundtrips that include a shopping stop, the stop is limited to the stated duration (for example, one hour). Please plan your shopping accordingly.
- You are responsible for your own groceries and purchases, including keeping them within the luggage space available. We are not responsible for spoilage, breakage, leakage, or loss of purchased items.
- Store hours, stock, and pricing are controlled by the retailers, not by Dan Knowles Tours.
13. Wet Bar Add-On
A wet bar add-on is available as an optional extra on our Sprinter van and must be requested in advance. The following conditions apply:
- The wet bar add-on is subject to availability and an additional charge, confirmed at the time of booking.
- Any consumption of alcohol is strictly limited to passengers of legal drinking age in The Bahamas. Valid photo ID may be required, and we may decline to serve or permit alcohol to anyone who cannot verify their age or who appears intoxicated.
- Alcohol must be consumed responsibly and in accordance with all applicable laws. Open-container and consumption rules may restrict use to within the vehicle only.
- Passengers are responsible for any damage, excess cleaning, or spillage related to use of the wet bar.
- Dan Knowles Tours is not liable for any injury, illness, or consequences arising from the consumption of alcohol.
14. Privacy & Payment Security
We respect your privacy. Personal information you provide — such as your name, contact details, travel details, and payment information — is collected and used solely to process your booking, deliver your service, and communicate with you about your reservation.
- We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
- Payment information is handled with reasonable care and, where applicable, through secure payment processors. We do not store full card details beyond what is necessary to complete your transaction.
- We may share limited information with drivers or partners strictly as needed to fulfill your booking.
15. Chargebacks & Disputes
Where you voluntarily provide your credit card information to Dan Knowles Tours to complete a booking, you authorize the charge for the service booked and, to the fullest extent permitted by law, you release and hold harmless Dan Knowles Tours from any chargebacks, payment disputes, or claims relating to that voluntarily authorized transaction.
If you believe there is an error with a charge, please contact us directly first so we can review and resolve the matter. Initiating a chargeback without first attempting to resolve the issue with us may result in additional recovery costs and forfeiture of any goodwill accommodation.
16. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or with our services, are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.
